Hamstring Flexibility
Tight hamstrings can limit your performance during your workouts as they are one of the main factors of limited movement. When they are tight, you are at an increased risk of injury and back pain. Sitting puts your hamstrings into a shortened position and if sitting for long periods of time they will stay in this position making them tight.
Posterior Flexibility
The FLEXability™ Posterior by Technogym (available in our Covington and Enumclaw locations) works the main muscle groups of the lower body and trunk in a simple and effortless manner. This machine focuses upon the shorter “ring” of the muscle chain, for maximum effectiveness. Begin by holding this stretch for 15-30 seconds and repeat it 3-4 times.
Hamstring stretch with rope/band
Lie supine with both legs extended loop a rope around the arch of the foot. Flex at one hip until the leg is perpendicular to the ground. Extend the knee until straight and gently pull the rope toward the body until a stretch is felt through the hamstring. Hold the stretch for the desired duration.
